Look carefully at the picture below. Nice shot isn’t it. Could you make out the figure of a biker on the far end of the road? Hardly. Composition-wise, this picture is a non-winner. Maybe a little out of focus even. There’s a splattering of green here and there.

I will vote for the senator, governor, mayor, congressman, councilor and other legitimate candidates for any and all positions, who promise and of course, fulfill after being elected:

Do bikes and motorized transport mix?
There have been numerous efforts, here and abroad to find ways to have the two types of transports have the best of both worlds. Bike lanes have been laid down in streets, segregated or exclusive bike ways have been constructed but there seems to be no simple solution.

Firefly Brigade
"The fireflies have fled the city because they could not stand its dirty air. All of us cyclists, pedestrians, commuters, even those who ride cars who live, work and raise families in the city may suffer the same fate. We continue to dirty our city's air with polluting vehicles and factories. As a result, we also risk disappearing like the fireflies."
Why resign ourselves to this fate? We have a choice. We can fight for clean air and bring the fireflies back.
